Election Board

Washoe Tribe Election Board

The Election Board as a whole shall have the following duties:

• Establish internal governing rules and select officers necessary to fulfill the duties of the Election Board as set forth in Title 20 – Election Proceedings;
• Determine all issues falling under its authority and jurisdiction as set forth in Title 20;
• Select and confirm the sites of the polling places;
• Provide for the safekeeping of ballots and the ballot boxes for canvass after the election;
• Open and close the polls and ensure that the ballot boxes are empty and locked before balloting begins;
• Develop, for Tribal Council review and approval, any regulations needed to implement Title 20; and
• Conduct all other responsibilities delineated by Title 20.
